How to Store Your Spring Water Correctly

At Summer Springs, we pride ourselves on providing the freshest, purest spring water directly to your doorstep. Our spring water is "raw" water—nothing added, just pure water as nature intended. To ensure that you continue to enjoy the best quality water, it’s essential to store your spring water correctly. Here are some key tips to keep your water fresh and delicious:

Keep Bottles Out of Direct Sunlight

One of the most important steps in storing your spring water is to keep it out of direct sunlight. Since our water is raw and untreated (nothing added), prolonged exposure to sunlight can promote the growth of algae and bacteria. Here are a few tips to help you avoid this:

  • Store in a Cool, Dark Place: Find a spot in your home or office that is consistently cool and away from direct sunlight. This could be a darker room, cupboard, or even a shaded area outside that doesn't get direct light. If you have to keep your bottles outside, it would be best to cover them to help avoid dust, dirt and direct sunlight.
  • Avoid Windows: Keep your water bottles away from windows and other sources of natural light. Even indirect sunlight can gradually warm up the bottles over time.

Rotate Bottles on a First In, First Out Basis

Just like with food, it’s important to rotate your water bottles to ensure you are consuming the oldest stock first. This practice, known as First In, First Out (FIFO), helps maintain the freshness and quality of your water. Here’s how you can implement it:

  • Organize Your Storage: Arrange your storage area so that the older bottles are at the front and the newer ones are at the back. This way, you’ll naturally grab the older bottles first.
  • Monitor Your Inventory: Regularly check your water inventory to ensure that you are following the FIFO method. This simple habit will help you maintain a consistent supply of fresh water.

Additional Tips for Storing Spring Water

  • Avoid Heat Sources: Keep your spring water bottles away from heat sources such as stoves, heaters, and appliances that generate heat. High temperatures can degrade the quality of the water.
  • Clean Storage Area: Ensure that the area where you store your water is clean and dry. Dust, dirt, and moisture can all negatively impact the quality of your stored water.

By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your Spring Water stays fresh and pure, providing you with the best hydration experience possible. At Summer Springs, we’re committed to delivering top-quality water, and proper storage is a crucial part of that commitment.
