Water Filters

Summer Springs supplies practical water filter solutions for businesses that want filtered drinking water from their existing mains supply.

Not sure whether filtered water or bottled spring water is the better fit? Our team can help you choose the right option for your site.

Water Filters for Home and Work

Summer Springs supplies mains-connected water filter coolers for homes, offices and workplaces across supported areas of regional NSW.

Choose a benchtop or freestanding point-of-use system with chilled water, or select a Hot & Cold model for hot water available on demand without repeatedly boiling a kettle.

Each system connects to a suitable water outlet at your property and filters the existing potable mains water before it reaches the dispenser. Because the water is supplied directly from the mains, there are no 15L bottles to lift, store or replace.

What is a point-of-use water filter cooler?

A point-of-use, or POU, water cooler connects directly to a potable mains water supply. It filters the water at the location where it will be used, then chills it or holds it ready for hot or cold dispensing. It is a practical option for sites that want filtered mains water without managing returnable bottles.

Mains connected Continuous water supply without replacing or storing 15L bottles.
Hot & Cold options Choose Cool & Cold or Hot & Cold configurations to suit your home or workplace.
Servicing included Regular cleaning, servicing and scheduled sediment and carbon filter changes.
Regional support Connected and supported by the Summer Springs team across our serviced regional areas.

Hot Water Available on Demand, Without Waiting for the Kettle

Our Hot & Cold water filter coolers keep water heated inside an internal stainless steel tank, ready to dispense when it is needed. Depending on the model, the hot tank holds approximately 1.6 to 1.8 litres and produces water at around 84–89°C.

This makes hot water immediately available for tea, instant coffee and other hot drinks throughout the day. In an office or shared kitchen, it can reduce repeated kettle filling, boiling and waiting, particularly during busy morning and lunch periods.

The water is very hot, but it is not boiling water. These units should not be confused with boiling-water taps or instantaneous heaters. A hot-water safety tap is included on Hot & Cold models to reduce the likelihood of accidental dispensing in shared spaces.

  • Hot water ready to dispense at approximately 84–89°C
  • Cold water available at approximately 4–10°C
  • Internal hot tank with a 500W sheathed heater
  • Hot-water safety tap included on Hot & Cold models
  • No need to fill and boil a kettle for each use

What Do the Sediment and Carbon Filters Do?

Summer Springs filtration systems use sediment and activated carbon cartridges to improve potable mains water before it is dispensed.

The sediment stage is used to capture suspended particles and sediment. The activated carbon stage can reduce chlorine-related taste and odour, helping improve the way mains water tastes and smells.

These systems should not be treated as a substitute for water disinfection or described as removing every contaminant. Activated carbon filtration is not designed to remove bacteria or viruses. The units are intended for connection to an existing potable mains water supply.

If your property uses rainwater, bore water, tank water or another private supply, speak with Summer Springs before ordering. The source water may require testing or a different treatment system.

What Is Included in Monthly Water Filter Hire?

Monthly hire provides more than the dispenser itself. Summer Springs remains responsible for the scheduled filter and equipment servicing included with the hire arrangement.

  • Your selected mains-connected water filter cooler
  • Connection and setup by a Summer Springs technician after the required outlet is available
  • Annual replacement of the sediment and carbon filter cartridges
  • A full service and clean every six months
  • Ongoing equipment support
  • No-cost replacement where a hired unit fails through normal use
  • A 36-month parts-and-labour warranty applying to the equipment range

Electricity use and any plumbing required to create or modify the water outlet are not included in the monthly hire price.

What Is Required Before Installation?

A suitable water outlet must be available where the filtration unit will be installed. The customer is responsible for arranging and paying a licensed plumber to provide the outlet, including a compliant pressure-limiting valve.

  1. Choose a possible location. Consider the available bench or floor space, access to power and proximity to a water connection.
  2. Confirm the model. Summer Springs can help compare the capacity, size and configuration of the available systems.
  3. Arrange the plumbing outlet. Your licensed plumber provides the required water outlet and pressure-limiting valve at your cost.
  4. Summer Springs completes the connection. Once the outlet is ready, our technician connects, checks and sets up the filtration unit.
  5. We maintain the hired system. Summer Springs manages scheduled filter changes, cleaning and servicing under the monthly hire arrangement.

Filtered Mains Water or Delivered Spring Water?

Both options provide convenient drinking water, but they work differently. The right choice depends on your property, water preference and available plumbing.

Choose a mains-connected filter cooler when:

  • You have a suitable potable mains water supply.
  • You want to avoid changing and storing 15L bottles.
  • Your site has steady or higher-volume daily use.
  • A plumber can provide an outlet near the intended location.
  • You prefer a fixed monthly equipment-hire cost.

Choose bottled spring water delivery when:

  • You specifically prefer natural spring water.
  • A suitable mains connection is not available.
  • You want the flexibility to move the cooler.
  • You are on tank or bore water and do not want to rely on it for drinking.
  • You prefer a returnable-bottle delivery service.

Frequently Asked Questions About Water Filter Coolers

What is a point-of-use water cooler?

A point-of-use, or POU, water cooler connects directly to the property’s potable mains water supply. The water is filtered at the location where it is dispensed, so there are no 15L bottles to lift, replace or store.

What do the sediment and carbon filters remove?

The sediment filter captures suspended particles and sediment. The activated carbon filter can reduce chlorine-related taste and odour, helping improve the taste and smell of potable mains water.

These systems are not water-disinfection units and should not be described as removing bacteria, viruses or every possible contaminant.

Do the Hot & Cold models provide instant hot water?

The Hot & Cold models keep water heated in an internal tank, ready to dispense when it is needed. This means you do not need to fill and boil a kettle each time someone wants tea or instant coffee.

Depending on the model, the hot water is approximately 84–89°C. It is very hot, but it is not boiling water. A hot-water safety tap is included on Hot & Cold models.

Can the hot water be used for tea and coffee?

Yes. The hot water is suitable for everyday drinks such as tea and instant coffee. People who require a precise brewing temperature should note that the expected output range is approximately 84–89°C.

Do I need a plumber before the water filter cooler is installed?

Yes, unless a suitable outlet is already available. A licensed plumber must provide a water outlet fitted with a compliant pressure-limiting valve near the intended location of the unit.

The plumber must be arranged and paid for by the customer. Once the outlet is ready, a Summer Springs technician connects and sets up the filtration unit.

What is included in the monthly hire price?

Monthly hire includes the water filter cooler, an annual replacement of the sediment and carbon filter cartridges, a full service and clean every six months and ongoing equipment support.

If a hired unit fails through normal use, Summer Springs will arrange repair or replacement in accordance with the hire terms. Plumbing work and electricity are not included.

How often are the filters changed?

The sediment and carbon filter cartridges are normally replaced annually under the monthly hire arrangement. The filtration unit also receives a full service and clean every six months.

Can the unit be connected to rainwater, bore water or tank water?

These systems are intended for connection to a potable mains water supply. Rainwater, bore water and other private water sources can require different testing and treatment.

Contact Summer Springs before ordering if the proposed water source is not potable mains water.

Can reverse osmosis filtration be added?

The Summer Springs units are configured for approved inline sediment and carbon filtration. They are not designed to be connected to an unapproved reverse-osmosis system.

Changing the approved filtration setup may damage internal components and affect warranty coverage.

Which water filtration system is best for a busy office?

The Standard series has the largest cold tank and highest stated chilled-water output in the range, making it the strongest starting point for a busy office or shared staff kitchen.

The Premium series provides strong capacity with a more refined cabinet finish. The Contemporary series is better suited to smaller teams, lighter demand or locations where a slim design is important.

Should I choose a benchtop or freestanding water filter cooler?

A benchtop model is useful when floor space is limited and suitable bench space is available. A freestanding model keeps the bench clear and can be positioned in a kitchen, staff room, reception area or other suitable location.

Both styles still require access to power and a suitable water outlet.

What is the difference between filtered mains water and delivered spring water?

A mains-connected filtration system filters the property’s existing potable mains water at the point of use. It avoids bottle storage and provides a continuous mains-fed supply.

Summer Springs’ bottled spring water service supplies natural spring water in returnable 15L bottles. It can be more suitable where a mains connection is not available, the cooler needs to remain movable or the customer specifically prefers natural spring water.

Where does Summer Springs install and service water filter coolers?

Summer Springs supports customers through its regional operations in Dubbo, Tamworth and Armidale. Availability depends on the property’s location and the local service route.
